Yes. As our programs are led by Registered Dietitians, you can claim your private health fund – depending on your level of cover. Please contact your health fund to see if your policy includes dietitian appointments.
If you would like to receive invoices to claim from your private health fund, please notify your onboarding specialist in your onboarding call, or contact customer support at 1800 864 873 or via email at customersupport@miyagi.coach to be added to our invoicing list. You will receive your invoices via email within one business day after your Dietitian consultation, not in advance.
Please note that we do not accept Chronic Disease Management Plans (through Medicare) to pay for appointments, as this is not a service we can offer at this time.
If you do not have private health insurance and would like an invoice for your payment, please contact Customer Support to receive a receipt for your payments.
The Miyagi Facebook Support Group is a private, online support group that is only available to clients enrolled in a program powered by Miyagi. The purpose of this support group is to ask questions, post wins, and support other members as part of your program. You will also see helpful tips and educational content by our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches via posts, and Facebook live segments, in addition to weekly “Ask the Doc” segments by our Chief Medical Officer Dr Ross Walker. These videos will be saved under the “Guides” section. Click the links below for a simple demonstration on how to find the Guides section on Facebook via a web browser or on your mobile device:
Please note: this facebook group is a supportive and positive community. Therefore, if you have any concerns regarding your program, please raise this directly with customer support at 1800 864 873 or via email at customersupport@miyagi.coach
While providing your blood results is completely optional, it is strongly recommended you do so at the start of your program for a number of reasons. For example, so our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches:
a) Can determine if you have any current nutritional deficiencies e.g. Vitamin D or underlying health conditions you may not be aware of and can determine the best course of action
b) Can determine your risk of chronic disease in the absence of symptoms e.g. high cholesterol, inflammation etc and provide personalized, evidenced-based recommendations based on your health markers; and
c) So you can get the most of our program, and work towards optimal health and wellbeing.
As this is your health and wellness journey, the choice to weigh yourself or take progress photos is completely up to you.
At Miyagi, our approach is to support and encourage you to create a healthy, balanced lifestyle that aligns with your health goals. We feel it’s essential to address weight stigma, and help people build a healthier relationship with food and themselves to improve their body image. We believe that if a person loses weight through healthy dietary and lifestyle changes, the weight loss is a beneficial side effect, not the primary goal.
The research shows that when people feel better within themselves, they are more likely to engage in healthy habits and behaviors. So our goal is to encourage you to engage in healthy habits at any size, and understand that weight is not the only measure of success. Other non-scale indicators of progress may be that you’re noticing a change in how your clothes fit, that your energy levels or fitness are improving, reducing pain while exercising, reducing medications, and that there are improvements in your sleep or blood test markers. So throughout your program, we ask that you consider these measures to track your progress and celebrate your success, and not solely focus on the number on the scale. Also, some people find that regularly weighing or taking progress photos can be disheartening and negatively affects their confidence and motivation by focusing on how their body looks from the outside. As every person’s goals and experiences are unique, our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches will work with you to determine what works best for you.
Logging your meals is completely optional. We know that what works well for one person, may not work well for another. Therefore our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches are led by you and what you will find beneficial. If you feel logging your food intake and allowing our team to see what you are eating will benefit you, then go for it. If you feel this will be too time-consuming or prefer not to do this, then there is no need.
Our Registered Dietitians’ and Health Coaches’ goal is to support you in achieving your health goals and finding what will work for you in the long term. If you’re unsure if food tracking is of benefit to you, we encourage you to speak to our team about this in your next call. Also, remember anything that you may log will only be shared between you and your dietitian and is completely confidential.
Yes, before your first call with one of our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches, we recommend you:
- See your GP and complete the recommended blood tests, and upload the results into Healthie
- Complete your medical questionnaire in the Healthie App
- Explore the program content and resources
- Join the Miyagi Facebook Support Group to connect with other community members on a similar journey
Like everyone, our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches can fall sick and be required to take the day off to rest. If your dietitian cannot take your call, our Customer Support team will contact you to reschedule your consultation for another day.

Please click here to watch a video demonstration that explains how you can upload your blood test results in Healthie.
Please note: If you’re uploading a photo or image, you can do this in the Healthie App. If you’re uploading a PDF or Word document of your blood test results, you must use the Healthie web browser or take a photo of your results. Make sure you’re uploading your results in the documents section. It won’t let you make a folder or upload your results in the blood results folder. If you’re having any issues, please reach out to one of our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches.
On the homepage of your Healthie app, you will see that there are no upcoming appointments.

For Video Call Appointments, please follow the below instructions to ensure you can utilise your appointment time. As a best practice, we encourage you to do the following steps before your call time:
- Log into Healthie a few minutes before your call time (on your web browser or mobile app).
- Ensure that you have a strong internet connection. We recommend connecting to WiFi to ensure a strong connection during your appointment.
- Find a quiet area and ensure you are not driving at the time of your appointment.
- Allow permission to share your video and audio for the appointment. We recommend testing your video chat before your first video call session to ensure your camera and microphone are enabled.
- Join the call on time. You can also join the call 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that you are ready to start when one of our Registered Dietitians and Health Coaches joins the call at your appointment time.
If you are having any difficulties and would prefer a phone call, please message your Dietitian in Healthie, and your Dietitian will be more than happy to provide a phone call for your consultation. If you require any technology assistance, please reach out to our customer support team at customersupport@miyagi.coach or 1800-864-873
Please note that if you have not joined your video call within the first 5 minutes of your appointment time, your Dietitian will call you for a phone appointment. Unfortunately, this will reduce the time of your consultation as we cannot go over your original call time.
If you need to reschedule your call for any reason, please do so before your call time. Thank you for your understanding.
You can reschedule your appointment in the Healthie app. When you’re on your homepage of the App, you’ll see up the top of the page that it will state “Next Session”. There is a box with all your following session details. If you click on the three dots, it will ask if you would like to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Throughout your program, we ask that if you know you won’t be available for your next appointment, please reschedule this as soon as possible to ensure you do not miss your call this week.
Every Monday, you’ll receive an email outlining the exciting events scheduled for the upcoming week, complete with registration links.
Additionally, every Saturday, we’ll send you a recap email highlighting the week’s community events, complete with recorded sessions for your convenience. Just in case you missed them.
To ensure you receive these emails, please add hello@miyagi.coach to your email address book or allowed senders list.
If you are having trouble finding these emails, please check your spam folder.
If you are interested in re-signing to the same or another Miyagi program, please speak to your Dietitian or Customer Support about the re-sign program options.
